6 - THE BIOLOGY OF TRANSCENDENCE - THE FIRST MATRIX OF PSYCHIC PHENOMENA:

I have done years of research and I have had personal experience in the areas of both resistance training and psychic phenomena. I have studied the research and experiences of many people who also have much experience and education on the subject of both resistance training and psychic phenomena. I have come to some undeniable conclusions. The conclusion that I have reached is that we possess the biology that allows us the potential to experience transcendent states.

In my studies, I have found that there is a direct link between our brain, body, and mystical states. In other words our brain can have access to the Universal and infinite intelligence, or God if you will, and then to turn it around so that this Universal and infinite intelligence, or God, can manifest its presence, and/or experience itself through us via our brains. I believe God is experiencing and evolving through all living and non-living things. God is doing this through all human beings.

In the Judea-Christian religions and with many other spiritual teachings, these ideas are often touched upon by the concept of depicting the holy trinity. In the Orient, this is also depicted by the symbol of the Tao showing the energies of Yin and Yang. This symbol by the way is really a depiction of a trinity. You have the Yin, the Yang, and then the entire collective; In Christian literature, you have the God the father, Jesus the son, and the Holy Ghost or the Christ spirit. Jesus and the Holy Ghost are represented by the Yin and Yang, and God is the universal and infinite collective conscious and unconscious.

When you look at the Tao symbols below, you will see that many spiritual teachings puts emphasis on the polarities that exist in all things, -- that exist within us.

There is of course Yin and Yang, a depiction of male and female energies, or anima and animas. Also what is often depicted in the symbol of the Tao is life and death or creation and destruction.

Carlos Castenada relates the teachings of Don Juan Matus and how he also touches on this subject. He talks of our normal or tonal self or consciousness, and our nagual self the non-ordinary consciousness that does not adhere to our normal concepts of time and space or linear thought.

If you examine sexual energies, there is the baser animal self and the higher spiritual self, and these energies interact & they revolve around each other like dyadic cyclones. This can be depicted easily in the Tao symbol. There is the concept of material body and spiritual body in all humans.

I could go on with many examples, but the point is in almost all cultures throughout the course of history, these concepts have come forth and have become unconscious or conscious archetypes.

Another concept to look at is that is often ignored by most people is that we are evolving or (hopefully evolving), to reach

higher spiritual development. The fact is it would be most helpful if we look at a very general and rough hierarchy of spiritual

and physical world from both directions

       >The Universal Infinite Void or God

>The Universal and infinite Collective Conscious and Unconscious - God

>Our spiritual self's that reside all around our physical bodies - God

>Our physical bodies and brains - God, (but we usually do not realize it).

"Enlightenment is an accident, but some activities make you accident prone."
------------- An old Zen saying

First there was and there is God, who according to many religions is infinite has always existed before time and space. In essence God was and is the Universal and Infinite Void before creation or the big bang. The Universal and infinite collective conscious and unconscious is all of the knowledge collected and stored. This is all knowledge that is linear and non-linear. It is all that is God. It is all that is living and non-living and all that we have experienced and thought of since creation. Our higher spiritual self's that resides all around and in our physical bodies is all that is everything that is previously described. Our higher spiritual self's has force and influence on our physical bodies and our brains. The people who reach this realization are more likely to tap into this source.

Our physical bodies and our brains is the biology created from a complex organization of simple cells, which in turn is vibrant with the universal life force. It is here at this level where the biology of our brains by a certain age will give us the perception that we are separate from each other and from the rest of creation. We become egocentric. It is said in many spiritual teachings that to reach enlightenment we need to become ego less. Other sources say that first you have a strong well-developed ego to have something of merit to give up. I believe this to be true to a degree, -- I believe that we have to first develop a strong ego, -- to become fully functioning human beings, and then learn to divorce ourselves from our ego at certain times.

Our physical bodies and our brains allow us to perceive and experience in ways beyond in a manner that probably cannot be done in a non-physical form. Most humans do not develop their senses as fully as they could, so they miss out on a lot. Their development is stunted and this lack of perceptual ability puts the brakes on their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual evolution.

Many consciousness and brain researchers believe that there is a dual action of our higher spiritual self which operates through the focal points of our brains. They believe that our brains are developing separate egocentric conscious that is sometimes extending itself beyond our brain and body to access the source from beyond. They believe that we sometimes look back at our self - that we look back at the intellectual and other operations of our own brain and consciousness. We have the potential ability to override our primitive survival systems of our reptilian and old mammalian brains.

This is both our gift and our curse. Most humans feel a longing they don't understand. But the humans that awaken to mystical experiences have an inkling to their open ended potential. Scientific researchers in the area of consciousness and brain operations believe that once we are able to stand outside of ourselves and find a source of energy outside of our brain, we then will be able to drop the product of our bodies and become both processes and product as we chose.

Many spiritual teachings say that an immortal soul is our birthright, and that reincarnation is a given. It is said that we keep locked in the process of birth, life and death, and that we keep experiencing and learning with each life. Some spiritual teachings believe that once we learn enough, we attain enlightenment. Then we stop the curse of rebirth, and become reabsorbed and stay in the infinite collective.

Other spiritual teachings say that reincarnation is not our birthright, and that any memories of a past life leaked to us from the collective consciousness of the people who have lived before us. These teachers believe that immortality is earned; by experiencing the one life you are given fully, by experiencing fully, by integrating your reptilian, old mammalian brain, and our neo-cortex. Dan Millman would say that this is achieved by integrating your basic self, your conscious self, and your higher spiritual self. Anthony Robbins would say that much of this could be accomplished by integrating your emotions, and intellect, to achieve a variety of physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, relationships, and financial goals

"When you seek after enlightenment, enlightenment will elude you.

Yet without seeking after it, you will never realize it." ---- Maezumi Roshi

Baba Muktananda, Gurumayi, and Carlos Castanada's teacher Don Juan Matus say that a person needs to develop the intelligence of their heart to the highest degree, so that one can push their intellect. Then they should develop the intelligence of their intellect to the highest degree, so that one can push their heart even further. It is with this manner of experiencing and learning that is necessary for a person to reach enlightenment and eventually, hopefully, be able to stand outside oneself and drop the body, so they can become process and product at will. So they will be able to tap into the collective and while doing so also keep their identity. So that they can travel to what many believe to be the infinitudes of dimensions, worlds and numerous alternate realities.

Joseph Chilton Pearce believes that until we integrate our tribunal brain, humans will always be at the mercy of being conflicted, and will always be allowing their higher brain to default to the conflicted impulses of their more primitive brains. Until this unity is attained humans will always be thinking one thing, saying another, feeling yet something else, and then perhaps acting out in an entirely different illogical and destructive way. This is why our planet is such a mess, because the majority of people are not really human beings, but instead they are human animals without the benefit of the finely tuned instincts of the 'lower' animals.

This is why it is important to glimpse at our open ended potential which is our potential birthright. Many people get glimpses of their potential by having mystical or psychic experiences. Unfortunately, most people if they have any such openings, are often told by many of the high priests of medicine that these experiences are only the products of dreams, hallucinations, -- the visions of an insane mind, or elaborate flights of fancy. This is ironic since other high priests of science who tells us that with our five physical sensory organs we can only perceive only 1 /1,000,000,000,OOOth of the electromagnetic spectrum. This means that we experience an infinitesimally small range of potential realities. With our physical senses we mainly see and think in a three dimensional manner and we miss all of the infinitudes of frequencies, energies and intelligences that exist.

It is only with this aspect of our intelligence that goes beyond our intellect with which we can feel, experience, and perhaps 'know' these other realities, -- to know the 'face of God'. Dr. John C. Lilly MD believes that this is the only way that we can experience the infinitudes of other times, dimensions, worlds, and beings throughout creation.

Years of research and resistance training have taught me that when a certain constellation of events come together, mystical states and psychic experiences are not only more likely to happen, they are more likely to happen more frequently with the possibility of experiencing a variety of states. The constellation of events that I believe brings about the increase likelihood of mystical states, is first a persons intent, -- next the stimulation of the body, especially when all three or more of their energy systems of the body is being deployed, -- then the proper use and interaction of both the intellect and ones emotions, -- along with these events the use of a variety of breathing methods at appropriate times. For most people, resistance training allows for the necessary constellation of events to happen more than any other activity or mental and physical discipline known to mankind.

During the past several millennia, many different yoga disciplines have been developed to not only exercise the body, but to also encourage the experience of mystical states. I am boldly proposing that for most people, resistance training is superior to the yoga disciplines in attaining these desired results. In fact, most of the yoga practitioners that I have convinced to take up resistance training have for the first time experienced mystical states, or if they have already experienced these states, they have noticed an increase in the number of times they enjoy these states, and the intensity is also increased.

I'm proof that great things can happen to ordinary people, if they work hard and never give up." --- Orel Hershiser

If this does not convince you, let us look at logical and scientific hypothesis to convince you why I believe this to be true. In addition, an excellent book to read is "The Psychic Side to Sports" by Michael Murphy. He describes how athletes often transcend their bodies and experience a variety of mystical states. In fact, this phenomena, seems happen more often to athletes who push themselves beyond what yoga practitioners do, unless the yoga devotee engages in intense physical activities along with yoga practice.

Resistance Training Versus Yoga Practice For Attaining Mystical States:

Whenever I mention to non-lifters that resistance training may be superior to yoga for the attainment of enlightenment, along with an increased likelihood of experiencing a variety of mystical states or spiritual openings, -- I get a lot of skepticism and resistance from most of these people. The reason why I get all of this skepticism is because most people are brainwashed to believe that yoga is the best way towards spiritual growth and that nothing as crude as brutishly hoisting weights could ever help anyone to achieve spiritual enlightenment. Unfortunately, among many people there is a pervasive narrow minded belief that hoisting weights is good for only building big muscles, and move very big and heavy things. The general consensus among these unenlightened people is that weight training is best suited for people who like to ride monster trucks and drink lots of beer. Many of these people are yoga practitioners. Yes, that's right there is dogmatism and narrow minded attitudes in practically every human endeavor.

Most people tell me that yoga has to be superior to resistance training for attaining spiritual growth, because "by God yogi mystics developed it five thousand years ago." Their reasoning is that since it has been around longer it has to be superior. First off, how do they know that yoga has been around longer? I mean, how do they know that there was not a form of resistance training back then? Just because yoga has been around for thousands of years this does not mean it is automatically superior? Remember at one time people believed that the world was flat much longer than knowing that the world is round. How does anyone know that yoga was originally designed to achieve spiritual development, or that spiritual development from yoga practice may have come about as a surprising by-product of a necessary exercise routine designed to give poor farmers and laborers a way of taking out the kinks and relaxing? How do we know that yoga was needed because yoga incorporated a series of complex poses, stretches, and a variety of breathing patterns, that heavy labor did not give them? Instead of blindly listening and believing either the yoga practitioners or me, you need to make your own intelligent evaluations and decisions based on evidence that I will present to you throughout this book. I ask you to feel free to read the books of other authors as well. Let us compare what constellation of events that yoga allows a person to experience and what constellation of events that resistance training will allow a person to experience.

Constellation of Events in Yoga

Energy systems used in yoga: All three systems are used, as with any physical endeavor. However, the energy system that is mostly deployed is the oxidative system. The other systems are barely stimulated.

Yoga involves intensive stretching and a variety of sometimes-complex breathing patterns. In some forms of yoga, there is much attention put on focusing on your breathing. Yoga is not very dynamic. By that statement I mean that while it is dynamic in the sense that you use the whole body, it is not as dynamic as many other activities such as dance, resistance training, et cetera. This is because it does not go from one dynamic movement to another without pause. There is a lot of pauses and holding between the movements (which is good for its own purposes but does not offer what resistance training has to offer). However, it does focus on attaining flexibility of and alignment of the spine, thus allowing for unobstructed energy flow through all of the meridians, the 72,000 nadis or astral tubes, and the chakras that is supposedly along the spinal canal. (This is an excellent benefit from yoga).

Much intent and imagination is put into the practice of yoga for the desired prescribe effect to attain spiritual growth. Between the intent, imagination and the physical aspects of yoga, the brain is stimulated in a specific way and these are key events for achieving spiritual openings, or nirvana. I believe that yoga was effective thousands of years ago because people were getting their other energy systems stimulated and deployed by the intensive labor that the people of that time were forced to endure for survival. I do not believe that yoga on its own provides the necessary physical stimulus for spiritual openings, at least not for most people. Yoga in modem times seems to be hit and miss process for providing the proper stimulus. I suspect this is because the practitioners of yoga have a diversity of careers that provide different levels of intensity. Some of the devotees have highly physical jobs, others devotees have sedentary jobs.

Robert Frazer a transpersonal psychologist and a Sufi Sake' says that practicing only yoga makes him too Yin, or too feminine and soft. He says he needed to add in more dynamic activities to balance him with more Yang or masculine energy. There are many types of yoga and each discipline puts different emphasis on different aspect of our lives. There is Karma Yoga, which is called the active path. There is Jnana Yoga, which is called the philosophical path, and it involves the philosophical or intellectual approach to spiritual evolution. This path demands a sharp mind and an unclouded intellect.

There is Bhakti Yoga, which is called the devotional path, -- this yoga teaches techniques to sublimate emotions through various practices, such as chanting, prayer, and the repetition of mantra, and thereby emotional energy is channeled into devotion, turning anger, hatred, and jealousy in a positive direction.

There is Raja Yoga which is called the scientific path, and this form of yoga prescribes psychological approaches while using a practical system of concentration and control of the mind, right conduct, striving for a healthy body, good posture, breath regulation, and a withdrawal of the senses to achieve enlightenment. Hatha Yoga is a form of Raja Yoga, and it focuses on asanas, which are postures, and Pranayama, which are breathing control exercises.

There are eight steps in Raja Yoga, and by observing your own thoughts, scientifically and objectively, the ancient Yogis found many of the stumbling blocks to bring the mind under conscious control. The sage Patamijali devised an eight-step program for controlling the mind and finding eternal peace.

"Ordinary people can do extraordinary things". ----------- Neo Americano

These steps are:

1)Yamas (Abstentions) - truth, nonviolence, control of sexual energies and social morals such as prescribed by the Ten Commandments.

2)Niyamas (Observances) -Austerities, purity, contentment, study, surrender of ego.

3)Asanas - Steady poses

4)Pranayama - Control of vital energy.

5)Pratyahara - Withdrawal of the senses.

6)Dharana - Concentration of the mind.

7)Dhyana - Meditation.

8)Samadhi - The state of Super consciousness.

There is also Siddha Yoga developed by Baba Muktananda, and it is designed to impart the power of the shaktipat, which is used to unleash the Kundalini energy that resides at the base of our spine. Kundalini Yoga is used to focus on the sexual energy and to use it towards spiritual attainment. Tantric Yoga is used in conjunction with a sexual partner to use your body and sexual energies to attain spiritual development. Then: is Essene Yoga, which comes a very strict and austere Jewish sect that Jesus had supposedly been a member practiced Essene Yoga. Laya Yoga is another form of yoga.

All of the different aspects from these different forms of Yoga can also be practice in resistance training. What is mostly needed from the teachings of yoga is intent and the breathing. Even though I prefer resistance training to yoga, I believe that yoga is a fine adjunct to resistance training. My yoga buddies say that resistance training is a fine adjunct to yoga. Even the eight steps of Raja Yoga can be attended to while you are engaged in resistance training. Of course following a right life is necessary regardless of any devotion of any yoga practice or devotion to resistance training.

I would like to make one more point about Yoga practitioners, and that is they are often taught to focus separately on the different chakras. I must say that is really a very western way of approaching things. It is no different than a weight lifter or body builder that focuses on each muscle separately as they workout. However, I think that this method is often beneficial at times for optimal results. In addition, I have to say that resistance training is in a way more eastern than yoga in that it often does not have to focus on any given part of the body and that you are often just doing and being.

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams". -------- Eleanor Roosevelt

Constellation of Events in Resistance Traininq

All energy systems can be vigorously stimulated and deployed, especially the phosphagen systems, and fast glycolosis systems. These systems can be stimulated and deployed to whatever degree desired by applying proper manipulation of the various methodologies described in this book. All systems can be stimulated and deployed during any workout.

Resistance training affects your muscles, your organs of balance such as the muscle spindle fibers, the Golgi organ in every tendon. Resistance training allows you to experience dynamic resistance and movement, static resistance, speed, velocity, and power. Resistance training increases your flexibility, and can help you to attain muscular balance. This will help you to maintain proper alignment of all your joints, and your spinal canal, -- thereby allowing unobstructed energy flow through all of the meridians, the 72,000 nadis or astral tubes, and the chakras that is supposedly along the spinal canal. (As with yoga this is a very good benefit from resistance training). No other activity will stimulate your body in the way that resistance training does.

As you can see, resistance training has many physical advantages over yoga, and you can incorporate any or all the breathing patterns while using any type of lifting program. In yoga, breathing is one of the main keys to focus on, and you can make breathing a key element in resistance training, (In fact you should make it a key element). Much intent and imagination can be put into the practice of resistance training for the desired prescribed effect to attain spiritual growth.

As I have said, I believe that yoga is a good addition to any lifestyle and that it is a fine adjunct to resistance training.
Also, as I have already stated, the eight steps of Raja Yoga can be attended to while you are engaged in resistance training.

In the next section, I have included a glossary of mystical, psychological and spiritual terms. I also include an extensive list of the variety of mystical and psychic experiences that people have experience under a variety of circumstances. I included this list so that you can recognize what you or anyone that you know may have at one time or another experienced a mystical event in your own lives. By considering and thinking about the potentially of having these experiences will help to give you the intent and the imagination along with the physical intensities from resistance training, and other methodologies that will help you to attain mystical or spiritual states.

I also included the glossary to show you that most experiences, beliefs, and labels are universal in most spiritual teachings, religions, and cultural thought. There are just different labels used in different languages and cultures because since the beginning of human kind men and women have experienced these mystical states. Often these experiences are the same but just labeled differently. I have had many different mystical experiences, and Neo has had many more. Combined, our experience makes up just the tip of the ice berg of what is possible for humans to experience. It appears that our creator or creation has given different people different gifts. I do enjoy having these events and I hope to have many more. I hope to experience new events which I have not experienced before.

Nevertheless, I would like to also emphasize that while I encourage these experiences to help you to open your eyes and to expand your perceptions, -- in of themselves, these experiences are just pleasure trips, and not the main focus of developing human beings. Too many people become disappointed if they don't ever have a mystical event. Worse still, some people have a few mystical events, and they get caught up with being hooked on getting their next mystical fix. They miss the point that human beings can feel bliss by integrating their three brains and by living a holistic life.

Humans will not become free until we learn to share with each other and help each other to evolve, to help create a better world: a world without greed, materialism, hate, jealousy, and the need to control others. People need to learn how quit identifying with their intellect, and realize that our intellect is and should be an instrument of a higher intelligence. As you will see, resistance training is the very best instrument for using the body to experience all sorts of states.

Some people are doubtful that these states can be attained at all, or that they have any merit. I am often asked, "Where is the evidence?" I just say, "Try it and you be the evidence. Regardless of whether or not resistance training can help you to achieve these states, at least you'll attain physical health benefits that come from a sensible training program.

The Importance of Imagination & Play - God's Universal Mandate:

Imagination is the greatest gift that humans possess. It is our imagination that allows us to use our intellect to create something new from something old. As children we are engaged in obsessively using our imaginations. As we become adults the use of this gift is often ridiculed, and society tends to discourage us from indulging in flights of fancy. The result is that our overall intelligence becomes blunted, -- even crippled.

Imagination is not to be confused with intellect, nor does it necessarily have much to do with one's I.Q. score.

Our intellect is the part of our mind that remembers facts and figures. It has to do with the use of skills already learned. Our intellect may even posses the ability to visualize abstract symbols and perform complex calculations within our heads.

Imagination is our ability to look at something and make believe that it is something else. It is the ability to be able to see the similarities between different items, or ideas. With this power, we can suspend the consensus reality of our culture, and replace it with our own, -- at least temporarily if not permanently. Our imagination allows us to ignore the conditioning of what our culture deems to be physically unattractive in people and allows you to focus your imagination to see what is truly beautiful about them to you, (See the movie "Shallow Hal").

This gift allows us to see the unlimited possibilities in ourselves, others, and the world around us. It gives us the power to ask the all-important question of "What if'? Imagination along with our intellect gives us the power to take what our culture already accepts as facts that are the only relevant in separate scientific and academic disciplines, and then put together what was once considered un-linkable, and link them together. This force of creativity gives us the power to create something entirely novel and innovative. Used properly, it is the crowning achievement of mankind, -- used wrongly, such as when our intellect defaults to our more primitive brains, -- to indulge in our baser impulses, -- it usually destroys us or others in one-way or another. This is what is happening on our planet on a wide scale today as in the past. Left unchecked, it will mean our destruction.

In this book, I propose that you use your imagination. If you do not think that you can, -- then just be playful and think of your wildest fantasies. How strong could you imagine yourself to be? How well developed could you become in your minds eye, (Your imagination)? Look around you; the world is filled with examples and role models. Imagine you are like them or even a thousand percent more. You are only limited by your imagination, and your imagination is potentially limitless. Once you imagine something, and then you desire it strongly, -- then belief will come. After this your intellect will move heaven and earth to figure out how you can reach your hearts desire. This is what your intellect loves to do, -- it loves to solve problems. People need to understand that if we do not engage in play and flights into our imagination of "What if'?" we end up creating problems just so our intellect can have something to worry over. Wouldn't it make more sense if we employ our intellect as an instrument to serve our needs, instead of becoming a slave to our intellect?

In this book, as you are visualizing (imagining) your desire, try to get into it as much as possible. Feel all the feelings, smell the smells, hear the sounds, see how it would look to be doing what you desire. You are looking into the future, but as you are living in the future in your minds eye, -- be totally in the now, -- you must use the power of being totally present. Believe that what you see in your imagination has already happened. Be as a child.

If you do this everyday, your intellect will insure that what you imagine in your minds eye will become manifested in the physical reality. I must make one addition to that statement. There is one other thing that you have to do to help you to insure this physical manifestation. That thing is called massive action, -- but this massive action is really better thought of as massive and joyous play. We must constantly play using our bodies and our minds, -- both the intellectual part and of course the magical imaginative part of our mind. This book teaches you how to play as you engage yourself with the lifting routines throughout this book.

Many people look at exercise, especially resistance training as work or tedious drudgery. Get this perception out of your head!! There is nothing in this book that resembles work. Work implies a job, and of course you know that in the Bible, Job was a character who was forced to endure all sorts of hardships. How could anyone do anything, or enjoy anything that was look at as tedious hardships to endure? Everything in this book is to be looked at and felt as play of the highest order. This does not mean that at times you will find yourself straining mightily, or that your body and mind will often be pushed to its limits, if you chose to push yourself, (This is not always necessary).

I want you all to think back to your childhood, whether you can remember that far back or not. Look around you at the children who are engaged in play. Many of these children literally push their bodies and their minds in a variety of mental and physical endeavors all the time. They do this without the insistence of adults or without any thought of a paycheck.

Children play and push themselves hard because of their imagination. Their desire compels them to play, to pretend that the matchbox in their hand is a race car and that they are world champion race car drivers. Later they pretend that the soap box on wheels is the race car, and eventually their very real race car takes the place of everything previously used. Then as young adults, (or adults of any age for that matter) pretend they are world champion drivers before they become one

Many of these people may never become world champions, -- but that is beside the point. Their imagination, along with their desire and intellect took them to heights that they most likely would have never reached, if they did not use their imagination and play. These children and adults never looked at the times they may have had to push their bodies or minds to levels that are often beyond the limits of endurance of most other people as work, -- they were playing. This is not to say that on some level they did not acknowledge discomfort, or even pain. To them it was worth it, -- because they were moving towards their hearts desire, --- they were following their bliss!!

Some adults are blessed with being childlike in many respects, (not childish). Being childish means a person is silly, and immature. This childish people do not accept the necessary responsibilities that we all must to take care of ourselves as adults. Being childlike means an adult can when it serves him or her suspend disbelief, -- to see and feel that we are open-ended unlimited potential. They have learned to enjoy their flights of fancy in their minds eye, and to engage their hearts desire in play.

These adults can find the play in practically any situation, in any job. They can take a postal job, and imagine how to best use their mind while they are doing something mindless. They can get into the Zen state of throwing letters in the letter case. They can see their whining and gruff supervisors as barking, insecure baboons on the Serengeti plains of Africa. These childlike adults can be working a telemarketing job that pays only minimal wage, and forces you to deal with people who do not want to talk to you. They can imagine that they are doing sensitivity training. They can play that it is a game as to how many people can they influence to buy a product, when these people are saying disparaging things about them and their family tree.

It is adults such as these, -- adults like me, and hopefully like you that can take the information in this book, to allow your imagination to take you where you want to be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Since the focus of this book is not just big strong muscles. It is also a scientific and artistic pursuit of enhancing your life and of the possibility of enjoying mystical experiences. It is the scientific and artistic pursuit of achieving enlightenment. You just have to fully deploy your imagination to get the best results. I am saying that with proper and intense intent, using your vivid imagination, while practicing at playing regularly with all, or at least many of the methodologies in this book, you will build the type of body you imagine and desire. You will enjoy many mystical events that you have never had before, or that you thought were hallucinations, or dreams. You will experience them for real. You will have the best way of working towards spiritual enlightenment.

Many of you will feel that these assertions are too grand or unreal. You may feel this way because of your peers and the social conditioning that you have been subjected to. Do not let the consensus reality of your culture tell you that this is a bunch of whoee. Do not fall for the common conception that people who have these experiences are having a misfiring of certain neurons. I propose that your neurons will be firing because you are having an actual experience, -- just like the neurons of your optical system fire when you actually see. All it takes is your attention, imagination, and practice, along with faith.

Some people worry that by submitting their imagination to entertaining the possibility of mystical events, would be a waste of their time. Other people think that if they pursue mystical experience they are courting damnation, or at least insanity. The fact is if you do not suffer from mental illness then these experiences will give you added dimension to your current reality. At the very least you will not be harmed and it can be helpful with enhancing your creativity. Other people think that if they experience a mystical state, and that since they may not be able to get a consensual agreement from others, their experience is not valid. Ask yourself, can anyone see what is in your minds eye right now exactly the way you do? It is unlikely. How many times have people had miscommunications because they could not understand the space from which another was coming from?

If you think a person is beautiful, and another person may as likely think that person is ugly. So, whose reality is accurate? Imagine the first non-aborigine who saw the duckbilled platypus. Could you imagine that person describing the creature? Hey guys, I saw this creature that has fur, four legs that are webbed like a duck, and it has a duck bill. This creature also has a tail a lot like a beaver's tail, and it has two little nibbles that produce milk, and it lays eggs. It also has poisonous spurs on its hind legs, and makes funny sounds, while it swims in the water. Could you imagine what the consensus was when the first person described this little beast? I am sure it was not very well received.

The point is while consensus reality can be helpful at times; it also can be very limited, and limiting. Trust what is in your imagination, and what you experience, provided of course what you imagine and experience does not bring you or others harm.

It is Gods universal mandate that we play, because that is what God is doing constantly. You will realize this when you experience satori, -- when you are in a state of Zen. You will feel connected and feel unity with the entire cosmos. You will feel one with the source of all creation, -- of God. You will feel utter joy, utter bliss. God/we are playing.

It is important for us to play, to make everything play. In this way God and we can grow and evolve. We can play with the knowledge that we have been taught, -- we can play with the abstract symbols in our heads. We can play at creating new abstract concepts and symbols; -- play at increasing our intellectual storehouse. This will give more for our imagination to see with, and to play with.

We are given our bodies and our brains to play, to experience with all of our senses, and to experience and play while constantly learning new skills, going to new places. I often sense that we are in essence spirit within a carbon-based vehicle that is equipped with a bio-computer that needs to experience, play and learn. We are experience driven carbon based biocomputers that is playing to become like God, -- to live without internal conflict, to be as Jesus & Buddha, so that we can drop product when we desire and become process and enter the "Kingdom of Heaven".

Remember: Play hard, and play often. Make everything your play and follow your bliss!!

The Benefits of Manipulating Energy:

Energy is the essence of all things. We know that there is matter and energy. Everything in the material world is really

energy manifesting itself in different forms. We know that scientists say that nothing is ever destroyed, just transformed.

Possible Manipulation of Energies and The Possible Benefits They May Provide Listed Below:

>Possible: The stimulation of all first level energy systems at the cellular level by employing the application of the

proper exercise protocols

>Benefit: The definite deployment of kinetic energy into a coordinated athletic movement or activity. >Possible: The ability to extend your intent/energy/intelligence for distances beyond your body.

>Benefit: It is possible that this ability or the perception of this event is a sign that you are operating at an extremely
high level, thereby creating an environment of positive feedback that will make your progress more effective.

>Possible: the ability to extend your intent/energy/intelligence beyond your body for distances that may sometimes extend seemingly infinite distance from you and as you experience this, you are also experiencing drawing from energy from sources outside of you.

>Benefit: This benefit is much like the first except that you are also receiving energy and possibly utilizing energy from a source outside of your own individual source, and this source adds to your own personal power.

"If you have the faith that is within a tiny mustard seed; you could then move mountains." -------- Jesus.

If you are interested in the potentiality of what I share in the outline above, please refer to Section 60: "Training Your Energy Systems" - (The Best way to Train). In this section I will be glad to expand on why looking at putting emphasis on your energy systems will give you a whole new perspective on your training, and a whole new positive outlook from the results that you experience.

Matter can be made up of a variety of elements. Matter can be made up of just one type of element, such as oxygen, or gold to give two examples. Matter can be gas, liquid, or solid. What determines if an element or compound is gas, liquid, or solid, depends on the distance that the atoms within the element or compound are from each other. Generally, the atoms in gases are much farther apart from each other than the atoms of liquids, which are much farther apart than the atoms of solids. Also, elements and compounds possess different yet specific patterns of energy with a variety of different strengths of negative or positive charges. These different types of fluctuating patterns of energy will determine the various characteristics that any given element or compound will possess. Some of these characteristics are density, hardness, color, the degree or strength of electrical charge, acid base properties, boiling point, melting point, crystal structure, electronegativity, specific heat capacity, thermal capacity, covalent radius, atomic radius, atomic volume, first ionization potential, the level of heat of fusion and the level of heat of vaporization, atomic weight, et cetera.

All of these characteristics are uniquely different for every element or compound. Each element or compound requires different levels of energy applied to them to exhibit some of there characteristics or properties. Each element or compound has its own unique energy patterns within them. The atoms that make up every element or compound are arranged or configured around each other in a way that is unique to that specific type of matter. Also depending on the specific types of matter, the atoms are patterned at different distances from each other.

If we were to back engineer one step further, we would see that within each atom there is unique configuration of the electrons whirling around the nucleus, and the nucleus itself has its own pattern of configuration of neutrons and protons. This is what gives each individual atom its own unique structure and it is the reason why it exhibits properties specific to it.

One of the truly amazing things of the atoms is that if you wanted to get perspective of relative size of the particles within the atom and the distances that they are from each other, we can look at some real life comparisons.

If you were to compare the size of the atom to the size of our solar system and our sun compared to the nucleus of the atom; this means that the distance between the atom's nucleus to the first electron orbit, you would see that it is about twice the distance of our sun is to the planet Pluto. Even the protons and neutrons within the nucleus have vast distances between them. It is only the fact that the particles within the atom is orbiting or vibrating as such high velocities that keeps the atom together.

Another size and distance perspective that I can give you is, if an atom was the size of our Earth, the electrons of an atom this big would be the size of cherries. Another perspective would be that if the nucleus was the size of a grain of sand, then the distance from the center of the atom to the first electron orbit would be from the center of the Vatican dome to its walls. If we back engineer one more time, according to scientists, each neutron and proton is made up of quarks, and each of these have vast distances between them. According to Fritjof Capra, who is a high energy physicist, and author of books such as the "Tao of Physics", "Turning Point", and many other books, He states that atoms and/or matter is really composed of 99.999999999999999% empty space. Let us back engineer one more time. If you were to look a the next lower level of units that make up the quarks or charms and these are composed of units called "superstring energy' and this I believe is called quanta which is not exactly matter or energy. These superstrings possess different patterns of fluctuating energy, and this gives them different qualities.

"If we can not find a way, then we will make one!" - Hannibal

At this quantum level, the infinite number of super string units, are operating at different frequencies or patterns and at this level to physicists everything appears to be chaotic. From chaos comes order. However, I believe that even at this seemly chaotic level if you were capable of looking from a certain perspective their probably would be a pattern of beautiful order.

The reason for this long winded diatribe is to point out two main themes. The first point is to share with you the magnificence of the atomic and subatomic level. The second and most important point that I want to share with you is that physicist have found that they can influence the outcome of some of their high particle experiments by their desire, intent, or thoughts. I do not mean that their perception of influence changes, but an actual influence to or on the particle happens.

I want you to take the time to mull this last paragraph over. Okay, times up!! If you really think about it, this fact shows us that as humans we have an unbelievable potential source of power that we can tap into by using our consciousness. If scientist can influence the outcome of a subatomic particle in a high speed accelerator, is it out of the realm of possibility to influence the workings of our body from the macro level all the way down to the superstring level and vice versa? Is it out of the realm of possibility to affect each of these levels by directly and indirectly manipulating each level of our energy systems? Is it out of the realm of possibility that we can affect these systems by directly applying superior exercise and nutritional technologies, or by indirectly applying superior methods of thought and meditation technologies? I don't know about you, but I am excited about the possibilities and so are many of today's leading minds.

The Potential Negative Risk of Entertaining Some of These Beliefs & How to Negate These Potential Risk:

1.       If your share some of these viewpoints with other people they may ridicule you and perhaps avoid you

Ø You can avoid hanging around people who are closed minded and if that is not feasible for you, do not share your viewpoints or beliefs with others.

2.       As you attempt to practice these techniques and beliefs you may feel silly for entertaining thoughts and ideals that science has trouble proving conclusively that each person who enjoys these experiences are actually having bona fide experiences.

Ø Don't lose sleep over this concern. Science often has trouble proving many things. Yet scientists are both shameless and smart enough to utilize many theories which laid the groundwork that has provided us with much of the technology we enjoy today. You do not have to believe me. You can read about many of the top scientists of the past century, especially the physicists. Many of these scientists have had visions first, an unshakeable belief second, and then they struggled to find or create the math & methods that would prove their theories, or to at least show that what they believed was repeatable. Let me also share with you a fact that despite the evidence that bumblebees do fly, scientists have yet to find or create the math to prove that the bumblebee can fly. In fact there is a mathematical equation proving that it is impossible for the bumblebee to fly, (Go figure). If you want scientific evidence indicating that there are potential abilities or powers that reside within

us, check the work and research by Dr. Charles Tart , Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, Psychology, University of California at Davis. Professor, Core Faculty, Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, Palo Alto, CA. His work sheds some pretty interesting light on the subject of paranormal experiences, and yes he used many nifty types of high tech scientific equipment to quantify his experiments. So the bottom line is you should experiment and experience the possibilities discussed throughout this book and make an educated and common sense decision as to what is real and what is not. You can't wait forever for other people to give you permission to think and/or spoon feed you with info they think is right.

3. You may feel that taking the time to engage in some of these practices and beliefs is too time consuming and wasteful.

Ø       Get real!! Most Americans have anywhere from 40 to 80 hours a week of disposable free time away from work. Most Americans freely dispose of up to 90% of this time on wasteful activities, petty thoughts, and conversations, or inactively & mindlessly sitting on their butts, watching TV, and perhaps guzzling their favorite beer. Let's face it. There is plenty of time to engage in many of these practices or beliefs. Two sessions a day for 15 to 30 minutes at a time, or even one hour slot of time during your day would be a good start. There is plenty of time to engage your mind and entertain some of these beliefs while you are training with weights, practicing yoga or aikido, eating your meals, listening to music, or making love with your significant other. Dr. Tart writes a book on Gurdjieff and his system observing that clarifies what I am trying to explain. I suggest you read this material. I also advise that you check out Dr. Tart's web site, http://www.paradigm-sys.com/display/ ctt articlesl.cfm .

4. You may feel that engaging in some of these practices and beliefs may encourage you or lead you to all sorts of

erroneous beliefs, such as the tooth fairy, gremlins, ghosts, anal probing aliens and that your winning the lottery is

just around the corner; Or perhaps that celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez, Russell Crowe, Carmen

Electra, Sean Connery, Oprah, or whoever will sweep you off your feet, or be swooning over the thought of you.

Ø       First of all, many people believe in or pretend to believe in many of these entities, regardless of belief in or practice of the exercises that promote mystical events. Secondly, some of these entities may or may not exist regardless of our belief systems. Thirdly, winning the lottery is far less likely than getting struck by lightening and even though most people know this statistical fact they continue to play the lottery. Finally, as far as the celebrities are concerned the men listed above are clamoring to have me in their manly tight knit company, and the likelihood of you scoring with the women is pretty unlikely since I have been monopolizing their romantic energies. Therefore I will leave you the lightening strikes and the anal probing aliens.

5. You may feel that there is the danger of become too obsessed with pursuing mystical states that are intensely rapturous and blissful, and that doing so could cause you to ignore the day to day stuff such as your laundry, mortgage, taxes, et cetera.

Ø       This is unlikely for most people, because the necessity of you needing to take care of the day to day tasks are so strong that they simply cannot be pushed away while striving to train for mystical experiences. If somehow you were to start experiencing these states and if these states were so rapturous as to distract you from your responsibilities, I can assure you that entities such as your family, your love interest, the IRS, your employer, and the mortgage company repossessing your house would be exerting enough pressure to bring you back down to earth. In fact if somehow for a time you are able to manage ignoring these socio-economic realities of our day to day world these realities would eventually make life too stressful to engage ourselves enough to attain these states, (at least for most of us). Perhaps there may be a few homeless people living under bridges experiencing Satori. To them I say God bless them & good luck. For most people this is unlikely, so unlikely that they have a greater chance of being struck by lightening, and being abducted by anal probing aliens then they have of ignoring their responsibilities and attaining non-drug induced mystical states.

6. You may have fears or have been told that exploring these possibilities is against the protocol of your religion and/or by delving into such matters you would be courting damnation. You may have been told that meditation will open you up to Satan's power or endanger you to demonic possession.

Ø       The fact is to my knowledge there is nothing written in any religious text that infers that seeking personal power in the attempt to be closer to God, truth or the Kingdom of heaven, which Jesus has stated that the kingdom of heaven is within. To my knowledge, it has never been inferred that anyone seeking the fullness of human potential will be in danger of Satan or demons, providing that their heart, and faith is with God and that any power or ability that may be attained is to be used in service of God and mankind, and if the person attaining power is humble in his or her acknowledgement that God is the source of all love and all power. There is the belief among some people or fundamentalist religions that meditation will open you up to Satan's influence. Rubbish. Prayer is talking to our creator or creation, and meditation is listening for the answer.

7. You may feel that there is the danger that by experiencing these intense mystical states that all other people, events, or things in your life will be so drab and ordinary by comparison and that this could bring about dissatisfaction, frustration, depression and feelings of alienation in your day to day life.

Ø       For too many people that may be true. Some people experiencing a rapturous experience for the first time may go their whole life unhappily searching for this mystical opening to happen again. Very often these people find themselves going to all sorts of extremes to replicate the experience. They will do this regardless if they believe the experience to be true or a fantastic hallucination. They often end up experimenting and using drugs to get "the spiritual hit". They spend their lives seeking gurus and enlisting in a variety of religions and cults hoping to fill the emptiness. Paradoxically, it is their desperation, and fear of never having a better life or being doomed to having an ordinary life that dooms them to the failure of achieving new or better experiences.

Ironically, it is their wanting to deny an ordinary life and their inability to fully appreciating their normal lives that blocks the way of achieving these states and blocks the way to true happiness. Even though some of these people may on occasion actually encounter several mystical events, some hallucinations, and some real, these poor people suffer from the unhappiness of having a life that is not supernormal every waking moment. In this situation I definitely know what I am talking about, because for years I suffered from these obstacles. While I did not get into drugs, nor did I fall into religions, or cults, I suffered from a emptiness, a feeling of being incomplete.

That was until I found out that what Dan Millman says is true, and that is that there are no ordinary moments I found that every moment that you are alive and especially if your health is superior, every moment that is usually perceived as ordinary becomes wonderful and beautiful. You then understand that even if you never have another 'mystical' experience, you feel blessed with the gift of life and knowledge of the multitudes of real life possibilities.

Once I realized this, and other people have also realize this as well is that once you feel the pleasure and the wonder of every moment that I eat, make love, lift weights, sit and walk amongst the plants and the animals throughout nature, I was surprised by a wonderful gift. That gift has been that once I could appreciate and experience fully the ordinary moments, to experience fully my workouts, I found that I was able to access mystical experiences on a much more regular basis.

The Benefits of Mystical or Spiritual Experiences Whether They Are Real or Imagined

Ø       The benefits are manifold, for individuals, communities, nations, and our world community.

Ø       If the events are real then individuals, communities, nations, and our world community can enjoy the benefits of manipulating energy as described earlier in this section.

Ø       People who enjoy and experience these states usually enjoy greater health regardless if they can prove if these events are real or not.

Ø       People that engage in training or practices that promote greater health and the experience of mystical or spiritual events are much more likely to perceive and/or enjoy an improved quality of life.

Ø       The people that have these experiences regularly are more likely to pursue a life that is healthier with more balance.

Ø       The people that have these experiences tend to be more loving, more creative, and are more likely to share their insights and gifts so that other people will wake up.

Ø       If all human beings were to experience regularly these altered and expanded states, it is likely that they will feel less need or desire to acquire unnecessary material things, a very often do not fall prey to unhealthy peer pressures or undesirable social imprinting that most humans are susceptible to.

Ø       My final assertion is that many of the atrocities that mankind have experienced at the hands of fellow humans would a near impossibility if all humans accessed the power and the bliss the dwells within them. As Jesus called it, the kingdom of heaven. In fact almost all of the social ills in this country & around the world would be solved.

Ø       Humans who posses the ability to access these states find that they burn with a passionate need to bring their love and compassion to the rest of humanity.

My challenge to everyone is for them to access these states and try not to collaborate with other people accessing these states. I challenge you to try and ignore the woes of the world and to not lift a finger to improve the state of our world. I dare you.

So, what are you going to do?
