EXCERPT FROM THE
BOOK:'CONVERSATIONS
WITH NEO'
CHAPTER NINETEEN
Neo Explains Healing
Gladys
Neo sweeping his hand all around said, “It takes yer breath away
and wash yer problems and worries aside don’t it?”
Still over taken by the awe of creation I simply said, “Yes.”
He
pulled out some dried beef, and some fruit and relaxed back
against a large tree as he slowly took in the nourishment. I
pulled out my wrapped roast beef and canned sardines.
He smiled looking at my grub and said, “Thank God for Safeway,
eh?”
I said, “It’s great out here…I need to get out here more often.”
I was struggling to find a way to ask him so many things and I
was trying to move in as smoothly as possible to talk with him
without seeming to interrogate him.
I said, “Neo, you’re from Australia originally?”
Neo sitting back and still relaxed said, “Before I talk about
myself I want to git a few things straight between us, okay
mate?”
I felt
that his tone had a hint of a type of ultimatum of some sort
that would be required of me.
I said, “What sort of things would that be?”
Neo said, “I’m a bloke that likes to have a lot of privacy, and
that means I don’t like people to know my business…my life or
anything that I don’t directly share with them myself.”
“Whatever I tell you about me, or anything that we discuss, or
anything I do….I don’t want to go beyond you and me.” “Is that
clear?”
I said, “Yeah, I guess so… you aren’t a wanted criminal or
anything like that are you?”
He laughed, “Naw, just a wanderer that likes to keep a low
profile.”
I said, “Okay, I think I understand….anything we discuss or you
show me I don’t talk about.”
He said, “That’s right.”
I said, “Even this camping trip?”
He said, “Even this walkabout.”
I said, “I wanted to ask you about what you did with Gladys.”
Neo looked slightly amused and he said, “What is it you want to
know?”
I said, “What you did with Gladys was the freakiest thing I have
ever seen.” “What did you do to her?”
He said, “I helped her with her injury.”
I said, “That’s not what I meant, I meant you done things with
her that I have never seen or heard before.” “It looked like you
did a Vulcan mind meld on her.”
Neo said, “Do you have a problem with what I did or how it
appeared to you?”
I
thought for a long moment and then I said, “Well both, I am not
sure what you did, and I am not sure if what I saw was real.” “I
am not sure what happened to me.”
Neo said, “Gladys had a pretty bad wound, I handled the
emergency in the manner that I have been trained.” “Just some
basic boy scout and corpsman stuff with some acupuncture thrown
in.”
I said, “What the hell is acupuncture and what was that stuff
that you had her sniffing and what was that stuff that you mixed
in the water bowl and wiped her with.
Neo said, “Acupuncture is a Chinese medical procedure that has
been around for at least 5,000 years.
“A
person’s body is filled with energy which is called Ki, by the
Japanese, Ch’i, by the Chinese, and Prana by the East Indians.”
Neo leaned forward, “Energy is sometimes blocked and that causes
problems and other times during a procedure, energy needs to be
temporally blocked such as in Gladys’s situation.” “I put the
needles in spots called energy meridians and this helps to
control pain, slow and stop bleeding and to promote energy to
strengthen the healing process.”
He yawned, “The stuff that I mixed in the water bowl was to also
help deal with slowing down blood flow, to numb the pain, and it
had herbs that was slightly astringent and helped to sanitize
the wounds.”
“The
stuff that I had her inhaling was a mixture of herbs and flowers
that promote pain numbing, slowing of the heart beat, and a
feeling of calmness and suggestibility.”
I asked, “What do you mean by suggestibility?”
He said, “I mean that what she breathed in helped to promote a
state of suggestibility…it helped to open up any blocks or
dissolve any resistance she may have had to me helping her,
hypnotizing her to do all of the things that the herbs and
acupuncture was also doing.”
I said, “Ah ha, I knew it had to be something I could
understand!”
Neo just laughed and then he said, “So you understand, that is
good.”
I said, “Still, even though I understand hypnosis, what I don’t
understand is how was it that you and Gladys’s seem to be in a
Vulcan mind-meld?”
Neo said, “Since Gladys’s is a very suggestible person
anyway…everything that I did to her opened her up to where we
could merge our nervous systems together.”
I was shocked… did Neo just tell me that he in fact did a Vulcan
mind-meld?”
He
looked at me and laughed.
He said, “It was hypnosis, but Gladys’s made it possible to go
beyond normal hypnotic procedures…and without her we would not
have been able to merge…
without her it would have just been a more of the regular
mechanical type of healing.” “With out her faith and willingness
to surrender to both herself and to me and vice versa, all I
could have done was to cut down the bleeding, cut and clean her
flesh and just sew her up…the Eastern techniques along with
Western techniques the job would have been better than most, but
without her, I would not have been able to merge with her and to
help her to harness her energy, nor would I have been able to
lend her my energy, at least not very well.”
“I said, “Are you telling me that you lent Gladys your energy or
that you even believe it?”
Neo said, “Yes, that is what I am saying.”
Seeing the dubious look on my face Neo smiled, “Is that so hard
to believe?” “You do that when you spot a lifter, when you are
aching for them to make the lift to move the weight the
prescribed number of times, or at least that’s what you believe
at times, isn’t it?” I was startled that he would say this. I
had always believed that I had been able to do this, but I never
advertised it to anyone.
Neo said, “I have seen you working with your clients, and the
other lifters…
when
they train with you, they perform much better when you spot them
than when the other guys spot them.”
I said, ‘That’s because I’m a good cheerleader and I know which
words and phrases spike up their performance.”
Neo said, “Yeah, all that is true and that is partly what I did
with Gladys, but there is more to it than that.” “When Harry,
or Rick, or some of the other guys copy your style and phrases
their success in helping the clients increase…in that there is
not doubt…however…all things being equal, the clients still
progress much better when you are right there with them.” “They
know it and they even tell other people that they will wait
until you can spot them.” “No… what I’m talking about goes
beyond that…
it is
your intention of will to influence their power with yours that
helps them…
I can
see it.”
I was speechless and then I said, “Well perhaps…I mean I
sometimes feel that way, but you cannot compare my helping a guy
to get a few extra reps or ten or twenty extra pounds with what
you did with Gladys.”
Neo said, “Why not?” “It is just only a matter of degree, what
you saw me do with Gladys’s was an amplification of what you are
learning to do on your own.” “Most people have the latent power
within, but they do not realize it, or they refuse to believe
it.”
I said, “I want to know why you put your one hand on Gladys’s
solar plexus and tapped her on the head…it kind of reminded me
of some of those TV faith healers.”
He laughed and then he says in a perfect imitation of a TV
evangelist, “Yeass, I will strike out the demon of conceit
in the name of jeazusss.”
His tone got serious again and he said, “I put my hand on her
stomach to calm her, just like when you put a hand on a baby’s
belly to help calm the baby.” “I put my hand on her crown, these
are both areas where major energy chakras are located and these
areas I open up and stimulate the chakras.
I asked, “Are you telling me that the TV Faith healing stuff is
not fake…that it’s real?”
He said, “If a person’s faith is real than their healing can
be real and if the evangelists faith is real then all the
better.”
I said, “So are they tapping the heads of their followers to
touch these chakras that you are talking about?”
Neo said, “Na, most of them are hitting the foreheads of their
followers for theatrics and to stun and put the follower off
balance, so in effect they are shocking their followers nervous
system in a very crude way.”
“A few, a very few are gifted healers and they are actually able
to tap into those energy fields even if they don’t know how they
are doing it.”
I said, “I thought I saw some energy around your hands and
Gladys’s stomach and head and I could have sworn I felt tingles
of energy when I was holding her hand.”
I was
debating on whether I should tell him about the rest of my
experience, but I was not sure how that would come across. I
just sat there for a long time not saying anything.
Finally, he said, “There is more ya want to tell me?”
I sucked in a deep breath and I said, “When you and Gladys’s
were… melded…
I
heard you both talking together as one at the same time…then I
saw both of your eyes… her eyes were… they were… dilated while
yours were pinpoints… and then
I saw
both of your eyes do a complete reversal…what was that all
about?”
Neo said, “Does it seem hard to believe?” “How many times have
you finished a sentence for someone, or said exactly the same
thing they were going to say…sometimes at the exact moment?”
“It’s just the same thing, only more extreme…deeper.”
I said, “I also….I also felt…like every molecule in my body was
humming when you both were doing that….I felt myself vibrate
and……dissolve…blank out.” “There, I thought, it’s out,
I said it, now no doubt he’s gong to look at me like I’m nuts.
Neo laughed hard at what I said.
I thought, “Yep there he goes, he knows I must be a nut case.”
Neo smiled and said, “Ya think you’re a loony hey mate?”
I said, “Well?”
Neo said, “Na, ya ain’t loony, yer just a lot like Gladys…you’re
really a highly suggestible guy…maybe a bit over suggestible.”
Before I could protest he said, “Thank God ya got a lot of the
scientific skeptic in ya also.”
I said, “My hypnotist told me the same thing.” “Do you think
that being highly suggestible makes me think I experience things
when I don’t, or do you think it allows me to actually
experience things that a lot of people don’t?”
Neo said, “Yes.” His single affirmation confused me.
I said, “Which is it?”
He said, “Both…your high suggestibility is a double edge sword,
sometimes you may be likely to feel as though you are
experiencing something when your not, or over exaggerate in your
head what you felt, but your gift also will allow you to
perceive what other people don’t perceive.” “Your skepticisms is
a needed foil to guard against an over active imagination.” “Ya
got to remember that your skepticism is also a double edge sword
and it can have you doubting the reality of what you actually
experience.
I said, “I’m just curious, you said that on Gladys you used a
combination of both Western and Eastern medicine on her…did you
use to be a doctor, or something?”
Neo looked at me for a long moment, his strange eyes seemed to
pin me on the spot and it looked as if he was weighing things in
his mind, weighing me, weighing circumstances. “Let’s say that I
have had lots of medical training in many areas and leave it at
that for now.”
I was starting to get sleepy and I told Neo that I needed to do
a power nap.
He laughed and said, “Yeah, it looks like ya got to git a little
bit of spine bashing in.
