EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK:
Testing My Skepticism and Experiencing Loss
As I stood
there looking down at my prone body, I began to doubt what I was
experiencing was real.
I thought, “What
if I’m suffering a temporal lobe epileptic seizure?” I had
read these types of seizures could produce powerfully vivid
hallucinations. More doubt started to crowd my mind.
“I know,”
I thought, “I’ll go over to Jacinto and touch him to see if
he can feel me or sense my presence. I can at least look over
his shoulder and see exactly what he’s doing. This should prove
this experience to myself if I can tell him exactly what he had
been doing.”
As I turned
towards him, I felt a sharp pain in my knees. At that instant, I
felt my spiritual presence and pain simultaneously in both
bodies.
For just an
instant, I was bi-located – I was in two places at the same
time. Then my new body was falling to the floor, dissolving; I
was back in my normal body. The joining had been so sudden that
I jolted violently out of bed, startling Jacinto.
The loss of my
new power, perfection, connection with the infinite and my
closeness with God, made me want to weep. Yet I also felt
blessed to have experienced such perfection. On several levels,
I felt this experience changed me forever and that new portals
were open to me. I just didn’t know exactly what those portals
were.
