Here is a letter of appreciation from Food for Lane County. I know what it is like to go hungry. I went hungry as a child because my mother did not receive adequate child support, and the wages she earned was not enough to fill us to our satisfaction. When I was in the Marines, I witnessed the mind-numbing poverty and starvation that people in other countries suffer as well. Also as an adult,  I again faced homelessness and hunger. It is for these reasons and others that I have vowed to help alleviate the hunger of the world. I am grateful that many wonderful organizations such as Food for Lane County exists and I am grateful for the wonderful people that volunteer their time and efforts to make the world a better place.
