Orange Essential Oil

Orange essential oil has a sweet, fresh, citrus scent. Orange essential oil is high in d-limonene which can boost immunity, provide anti-inflammatory affects, reduce stress and boost your mood.

Uses
There are many ways to use orange essential oil. You can place a few drops in the palm of your hand, rub together and inhale for an uplifting boost. Or place 3-4 drops in a diffuser, like this Petal diffuser from dōTERRA to freshen the whole room. Add a drop of orange EO into your water for a burst of flavor and to promote overall health. You can also add a few drops of orange EO into your baked goodies, like this homemade Paleo chocolate. Some practical uses for orange oil are to freshen clothes – place a few drops in your washing machine final rinse cycle or place a few drops ona wool dryer ball. It also is great for removing gum and sticky label residue. You can make a safe disinfectant with distilled water, vodka, vinegar and about 30 drops of orange essential oil. Place in a glass spray bottle and get rid of those toxic disinfectants and cleaners.

Cautions
Citrus oils can have phototoxic effects, so it’s best to avoid sun exposure for 12 hours if you put it on your skin. Also, cats are not able to properly metabolize citrus essential oils, so don’t use them directly on your cat or have them in an enclosed room when using citrus essential oils.

With all essential oils, it is important to use a therapeutic grade oil. Especially if you are going to use them internally. I personally use dōTERRA brand. Any of their oils marked Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade are safe to use internally.

Orange essential oil is very versatile and I consider it one of the top essential oils to have on hand. If you’d like to learn more about Orange essential oil, or other essential oil uses, I invite you to contact me at shannon@kbytes.com or visit my dōTERRA site: https://mydoterra.com/k9bytes
