Excellent Treatment Centers and Physicians

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/nycu/health/hosptl/rankings/specihqcanc.htm
This is the U.S. News & World Report List of the “best” medical centers for cancer—it is very broad but often useful for YCS clients, especially if you need to quickly locate a physician for an independent 2nd or 3rd opinion or treatments in your area.

WARNING: This list does NOT imply that other treatment centers cannot or do not deliver excellent care. This list, like all others we know of, is subjective and incomplete. They explain their research methods for compiling this list—methods we find sadly inadequate but better than no list at all. That is why this link is provided here, but also because this website makes it easy to click through to the cancer treatment centers we most often are asked about, plus their phone numbers, addresses and names of information resource people.

Please note that each of these institutions are generally considered (by physicians we know as well as patients who have been treated there) as providers of excellent cancer care, but YCS has shorter lists of centers which SPECIALIZE IN SPECIFIC TYPES OF CANCER OR TREATMENTS. We urge you to email or call us to get these—this information changes over time. Obviously, there are also some physicians from whom our patients have received outstanding care, and we can pass along those names if you ask us to.

Three quick examples: our patients with RARE tumors rave about Stanford University Hospital in California, those needing stem cell transplants or bone marrow transplants rave about the care they received at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (Seattle, Washington). And two prostate cancer patients have raved about Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, Maryland) and Cedar-Sinai Medical Center (L.A., California).
