IMPORTANT NOTEYCS
offers an educational service only and should not be used in place of a
visit, call, consultation or the advice of your physician or other qualified
health care provider. If you have a question regarding cancer or treatment
options, please consult one or more qualified oncologists. (See full Legal
Disclaimer). Some of the information available on the web is anecdotal
and MUST be used cautiously. Below are the links that YCS has found particularly
useful in helping cancer patients understand their best treatment options.
The links here and the contents of this site will change often, as new information
and resources are discovered.
Comprehensive Cancer Info

Especially useful for those who want “Evidence-based
medicine”. (Our bias...this phrase is popular now for
some political reasons. Useful stuff but limited,
generally, to research which is funded by big
pharmaceutical companies, with a bias that shows). To
YCS, this is like looking at the world with one eye
shut. You will miss lots of potentially useful
information until you open both eyes.

“Anyone who follows science and technology knows the frustration of deciphering
articles on these subjects in the mainstream press. ... There are plenty of
monthly magazines that give the straight dope on the important research and
findings of the day, but what if you don't want to wait until the next edition
of Science or Scientific American comes out? That's where ScienceDaily comes
in.”

Alternative/Complementary Treatments
YCS has added these links due to increasing personal and client interest. We now have a bit of first-hand knowledge in this area. Our goal is to strengthen this section in 2006, and we appreciate any information about credible online resources that you can offer, by emailing us at dianebgold@yahoo.com. If you are a patient with interest in this, we strongly prefer to talk to you directly, as these practitioners and treatments can be more difficult to assess online. Please go to our Home Page, scroll to the bottom and complete the brief questionnaire. Once we know your question and preferred phone number, we will phone you to see if we can help out.
